Holcomb Journal
Your waiting feels endless. This journey is likely one you didn’t ask for or anticipate. We see people waiting throughout scripture, and just like you are thrust into a wait with seemingly no end in sight, so was Noah. While his story is probably familiar – an ark, pairs of animals, and a huge flood. I want to remind you NICU families about how Noah waited.
In Matthew 6:11, Jesus prays, “Give us this day our daily bread.” I love the emphasis on “this day.” We’re called to be present with today’s provisions from the Lord. In a culture that calls for getting ahead, our Father offers us rest as He provides one day at a time.
Holcomb Ministries is here by so many details orchestrated by God. He is such a creative author. I want to tell you what “Holcomb” means.
In 2020, the first Christmas our daughter was home, we asked our friends and family to donate towards gift bags for families. We didn’t have a financial goal or an organized plan - but God did.
Many families who deliver preterm enter the hospital unexpectedly and have nothing but the shirt on their back. In a world of curated perfect birth plans and organized hospital bag checklists, I can officially confirm from personal experience that you can enter the hospital with absolutely nothing in hand and still deliver your baby.
I’m often asked, “I know someone in the NICU, what can we do for them?” Our goal through this blog is to share practical and intentional ways to both serve and gift a family.
“...the beautiful relationships given to us repeatedly in Scripture between God and man are those of a father to his children and a shepherd to his sheep.”
