When your friend enters the nicu

You get the call that your dear friend has unexpectedly entered preterm labor. You're shocked and heartbroken. How can this be? You want to do something. You want to be helpful. You have so many questions but don't want to overstep.

So many friends and family members experience the shockwaves as preterm labor sends a ripple effect. There are so many things happening at once. Everything seems to stop & simultaneously keep going.

The juxtaposition of life inside the hospital for your friend and real life for you feels like a punch in the gut. Your mind swirls while at the park with your kids - how can I have a happy, blissful day at a time like this?

God has given you *this day* to steward at the park with your kids. And in the same breath, God has given your friend *this day* to steward time with her baby in the hospital.

What do you do in your grief for your friend? Lift your hands to the throne & know that you can place their situation at the feet of our Savior. Proclaim what is true of God in these moments. Trusting that God is omniscient - He is bigger than they are walking.
